A section of conveyor equipped with a hinge mechanism to provide an opening for a walkway, etc. (Manual or Spring Loaded)

GMA
Grocery Manufacturer's Association

GMA Pallet
A pallet approved by the Grocery Manufactures Association (GMA). GMA pallets are 48"x40" and are constructed of` blocks and lengths of wood. This construction allows for either four-way or two—way fork truck entry (between the top and bottom surfaces of the pallet).

Gravity Bracket
Brackets designed to permit gravity conveyors to be attached to the ends of a powered conveyor.

Gravity Chute

Gravity Conveyor
A type of roller or wheel conveyor which is non-powered. In this case the conveyor is pitched to induce load movement. See "Roller Conveyor" and "Wheel Conveyor."

Guard Rail
Members paralleling the path of a conveyor and limiting the objects or carriers to movement in a defined path.

Guided Wire Communications
Abbreviated as GWC. Obsolete term. HK Systems' pre-1995 (wire guidance) technology for AGVs.

Guidepath
The path along which the AGVs move from station to station. A guidepath may be internally generated from X, Y coordinates, or by update marker locations.

Guidetube
A metal tube attached to the cross-aisle ties at the top of the AS/RS rack. The tube guides the top of the SRM down the center of the aisle.

Guidewire
Obsolete term. The signal-carrying wire that an AGV follows in track wire mode (non-computed guidance mode).
